Leaving the "Sticks and Bricks"

Today we are beginning our fulltiming journey! Woo Hoo!  We are now houseless, but we certainly are not homeless. Our emotions are a mixture of absolute joy and intermittent terror as we begin this new path in our life.  John does not retire until November so in the meantime, we will be commuting to work from a campground.

Our first two weeks will be spent at one of our favorite places. We will be staying at White River Campground near Cicero Indiana.  Most of the sites are along the river and it is owned by Hamilton County.  There is a canoe launch on the premises and it certainly has the "it" factor for us.

Stay tuned as our new journey begins...

Hallelujah!

On Easter Sunday we brought home our beautiful motorcoach.  We are so excited and feel so very blessed.  The night before I could hardly sleep.  I was very concerned about the driveway.  It involved backing the motorcoach down the street and onto a narrow driveway that is positioned at a sharp angle.  Oh, I should also mention there are huge piles of landscaping rocks on each side.  John assured me he could do it and sure enough with just a few tries he accomplished it.  He rocks!  That certainly was a quick initiation.

Over the next few weeks we plan to move all our "stuff" into the coach and decide what will work and what possessions will need to find new homes.   We've purchased a lot of clear bins to go under the coach and a label maker.  I'm sure that over time we will find many of these items will not be needed.

John is emptying everything out of the coach today and plans to take it to a truck stop to have it weighed.  From the classes we have attended we learned that it is very important to know your dry weight and to avoid over loading.  John wants to know if the coach weighs the same as the stated weight on the label inside.

Our goal is to be fulltiming starting May 1st!  It's a rather aggressive goal, but hopefully it can be accomplished.  In the meantime, we will commute to work from the campgrounds and use this time to learn about our coach before leaving the area. We have not owned a motorcoach before and expect a rather big learning curve.

GO BULLDOGS

It's NCAA Final Four Time

Indianapolis is rocking this weekend as the host for the tournament.  It's an exciting time for our city and state.  We love basketball..  One of the final four teams is from Indianapolis-Butler University.  Everyone in so excited for this small university.  They have been hyped as a Cinderella team.  However, they beat the top two seeds to make it to the final four. What's even more amzing and it that teams this year from Indianapolis went to the SuperBowl and now the Final Four.
Go Bulldogs!

Update:  Unfortunatly the Bull Dogs did not win.  But, it sure was close!  It was such an exciting game, and one we will always remember.  We hope you had a chance to see it too!
