Our Blog Will Be On Hold For Awhile

Ft. De Soto Park, St. Petersburg, Fl (86 degrees, hot & humid)

Unfortunately as I was directing John out of our camping site  I did not notice the curb.  I took a very dramatic tumble catching myself with my right hand. John parked the motorcoach and quickly took me to a local ER. X-rays confirmed a fracture and I'll see a hand surgeon tomorrow. Hopefully it will not be too complicated. Our daughter was visiting at the time and was such a great help. We will be here for another week but continuing the blog for now is just too difficult. Typing with one hand is a challenge.

I'll try to update our blog soon. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

  2. Oh dear! Feel better soon. I have so enjoyed reading about your experience at the Wildlife Refuge. We plan on visiting this winter and hopefully see the roseate spoonbills in person.

  7. Oh no. Ouch! Having fallen last year, I know it is no fun. Get yourself repaired and rested up.

My sis-in-law tripped over a curb and fell a couple of days ago. She didn't break anything, but has scrapes on her hands, upper lip and cheek.

I hope your break isn't serious. Take care.

  8. I'll miss your posts but having my hand in a thumb stabalizer at the moment for trigger thumb, I know exactly how much more difficulty you would have doing a blog. Rest up, heal and relax.

  15. Fran took a backward tumble in Anchorage, luckily her butt took the brunt! Binocs and casts don't work well, so you'll need a new hobby--manipulating the remote for daytime TV? Get well before Nov., work to do! Seriously, we know a great hand Doc in Orlando if you need a second opinion.
