Colter Bay, Grand Teton National Park (68 degrees, blue skies)
We had an early cold snap this week with temperatures as low as 19 degrees. These temperatures are not too much fun and for the most part we try and avoid
them. However, this weekend the weather was
delightful with beautiful blue skies. On
Saturday, our local friends Judy and Randy invited us to come out to their boat
on Jackson Lake. Judy is the bookkeeper extraordinaire for Grand Teton
Association and has become such a great friend.
This is a view of Mt. Moran from Oxbow overlook on our way to Colter Bay. You can see in the picture where some of the trees are starting to turn. Check back soon for more fall foliage. It is sure to be spectacular.
Judy met us at the dock in Colter Bay marina with their smaller boat and took us out to their larger boat anchored in a pretty little cove.

She invited a few other friends
and we had a nice lunch on board. They try to go out to their boat as often as
possible in the summer. Nice!

After lunch Judy took us on a two
hour tour of Jackson Lake in the smaller boat.
It was delightful to see the mountain range from a whole other
perspective. We traveled past some of
the remote campsites on the lake and saw a couple small waterfalls and a little bit of wildlife. What a
great spot to take your tent and get away from it all.

Did I mention the weather was
perfect and so were the views. Thank you
again Judy and Randy for inviting us. It
was definitely one of the highlights of our stay here this summer. You made us
all feel so special.
What beautiful scenery! You are right, things always look different from the water. We found that out ourselves when we got to go for a boat ride on our lake. Our scenery was pretty but not nearly a gorgeous as yours. One day we will make it there.

Excellent shots,we are used to see things from the ground level but it is sure nice to see them from the "sea" level as well.
