For all of you who heard quite enough from us about the great weather we were enjoying in Florida...well this is your moment. We are supposed to get 3-7 inches of snow tonight and for the next three days! OK.., go ahead, let it fly.
The wind has been blowing very hard all day. I took Jimmy out for a walk and was afraid we both would go sailing down into the valley. I think this is a good day to hunker down inside.
We have been working on projects all week. Today I found a surprise. I pulled my sewing box out of a low cabinet near the refrigerator and it was wet. Sheesh! How did that happen? John started looking around and it is probably the washing machine. He now has another project that should occupy some of his time. He is still trying to figure it out. The space where the washer/dryer is located is very small and difficult to maneuver around. To be continued....
A couple days ago we went into Cripple Creek to explore the town. It is a very scenic drive and the overlooks as you approach are spectacular.

| Cripple Creek |
Cripple Creek became a ghost town after the gold rush. It even burned down twice. In 1991 Colorado obtained a limited stakes gambling license and renovation began in this old west town. Today there are 14 casinos within many of the historic buildings. We are really not interested in gambling but were surprised how nice the town appears.
There are many murals and interesting signs along the busy streets. We have heard the restaurants are very good and tried Maggie's for lunch. It was very good and they even gave us a 20% "local" discount. That was nice. There is also a theatre that presents plays throughout the summer season. We even heard there was a ghost in one of the hotels.
Thanks for stopping by today Check back and see what Mother Nature brings us tonight. :)

Snow? Oh NO!!
ReplyDeleteSorry about the water leak. They can be tricky. Could it be the drain tube from the refrigerator is clogged? We had water on the floor by our frig one time and that's what it was.
Stay warm and don't blow away!
hope the weather outside improves quickly!..as for the water inside..OH NO!
ReplyDeleteWe were in Cripple Creek in July. . .I had to buy sweatshirts at one of the gift shops, it was soooo cold! Beautiful place. . .
